Learn to Play Craps - Tips and Strategies: Win-loss Limits
I've read through an abundance of my aide' books and articles and, as best I can recall, they all say that ommitting to predetermine win/loss barrier is one of the worst things you can do. I deviate--in part.
I agree with setting loss boundaries. break down your vacation time intosessions and set firm loss limits for each session. Without them, you could go flat broke the first day and have to spend the rest of your Vegas holiday watching the waterfall and sinking pirate ship 10 times a day. appropriately, controlled loss limits allow you to have a handle onyour funds so you don't go penniless before it's time to go home.
I disagree that you mustalso consistently set win limits ("always" is the key word). several of my co-workers advocate backing out when your winning run ends. If you're a local and can go again to the table again and again without restriction, then maybe win limits may offer some benefit. But if you're an infrequent player that holidays in Vegas twice a year, I believe that win limits are generally misguided.
Suppose you commence your four-day vacation by competing in your initial craps session. say your win/loss intent is to abandon the session if you are stripped of the $100 buy-in or if youend up $150 ahead. right after you buy-in, the game goes crazy with a burning hot roll. The player throws for pretty near an hour and not having a 7-out. You abandon your screaming, jumping up and down, hugging, and kissing to keep track of your chips. Holy cow, you're $900 ahead! The shooter finally rolls a 7-out. Next?? you have earned six times your initial win goal. Quit? If so, how long do you bail out? Do you stop all together and not bet the rest of your trip? If you quit, what will you do in the time that you expected to play craps?
this is the catch-22 you faceif you're simply an occasional crapshooter, which many of us are. As for me, I continue playing. how come? I came to Vegas to play craps. I did notcome here to relax in fancy spas, or shop, or sight-see, or eat atgourmet restaurants, or look at boring water fountains, or eyeball half-naked pirates, or do anything else but bet on games. So, why quit when I'm ahead? should I quit after a $900 winning session, what's next? Hang out at the bar consuming beer looking at everyone have great fun at the craps table? absolutely not! Like you, I'm a sharp player who grasps and accepts that i am probably going to lose by the time I leave the hotel, all the same, that is alright with me.It's nonsensical for me to quitaftergetting $900 ahead. If mulla were my objective, I wouldn't have blown $1,200 for two airplane tickets to Vegas, $700 for a hotel room, $500 (maybe more) for food, $500 for my wife's massages, and $1,000 (probably more) for my other half's shopping spree. It does not add up. If all I care about is bucks, I would have saved thousands of it by staying home. As long as I'm winning, I'm taking part in craps. The only time I drop out is after I've burned my buy-in money for a particular game. Then, when it is time to go ahead with the next session, I deposit one more buy-in share on the table and begin having fun once more.
If youdon't desire to go flat broke, you will want to be acquainted with the secret to craps. never fall for fakewinning systems orasinine dice-setting statements. Be clever. Play intelligent. Learn the secret to craps.
There you go!
